Where are you looking during a WOD? What are you focused on? What are you repeating over and over in your head?
- This is just a quick blog to give CrossFitters a Mental Performance Strategy
- The above picture is from my workout today…I picked the word ‘EASY’ and wrote it on the whiteboard
- This is a technique, I used to follow a while ago and decided to bring it back today during my workout
- My stare was straight ahead, at the word the entire WOD… if I glanced away for a second, my eyes went right back to that word
- I was working out alone, the clock was running, and I was focused directly on that word
- Try other positive words such as; smooth, steady, breathe, fun, simple….whatever works for you
- I am always repeating phrases to myself such as; “I can do anything for 4 rounds” “50 pushups is a joke” “12 minutes of anything is easy”
- It is much harder to think “this sucks” & “this is hard” when you are staring at the word‘EASY’
Try it, let me know what words or phrases work for you, keep it simple…this technique will carry over to better thought processes.
