Another "trick": Do your workouts early in the morning, 1 or 2 hours before going to work. As you need to stand up anyway it's not an issue as long as you go to bed early enough.

I schedule my workouts at 4:30 - 5:00 am and I commute to work at 7:30. I go to bed at 9:00pm

In fact after a good workout and breakfast you feel extraordinarily fresh and energized and realizing this makes that you are less prone to skip a session or a run.

Perfect response Warren, Just doing SOMETHING and getting started usually helps anyone feel better. Even if it is a light bodyweight movement or mobility session. I agree people need to know when a rest day is necessary of course :)

When this happens to me, I call a friend too. One that I know is working out that day and I commit to meeting them. Even when I don't feel like it, knowing they are waiting on me, can get me moving.

Similar to #3 -- reduce your expectations. Don't tell yourself you have to have the best workout ever, tell yourself you're just going to do a little light exercise. For me, usually, I end up having a really good workout.

Also, recognize that a complete lack of enthusiasm may mean you're due for a rest day.

Hey Dawn,
I love this and want to participate in #2 with you. Although I'm starting on the 6th, what I am committing to is no sugar until then.

I am committing. It's TIME!
